![]() ![]() Thanks for the assistance (and the great packages). I did that last time and it was working fine, but for some reason now it simply won't work. I did just rebuild my dockers and just re-added and configured sab/radarr/sonarr, but I followed SpaceInvader's guides for those. I've also got issues with the obfuscated filenames, but I can just ignore those with SABnzbd (binhex), so they aren't as big of a deal. However, sonarr and radarr simply don't see it and it just sits there until my cache drive is full. When I use my windows pc and browse to where my completed downloads folder is, I can see the video file with the right name. If I go to manually import, it finds nothing. When I check the queue, I can see that episode/movie in the queue but it's marked with the yellow downloaded but not found symbol. I now regret not giving the ZFS based solutions a second look.I've been having a lot of issues with both sonarr and radarr (binhex packages) where the completed download is never found by sonarr/radarr. In my mind a fs is foundational, and it needs to be rock solid, always. Has there been any attempts at collaboration with Sonarr / Radarr / Lidarr / SQLite to try and have a sqlite configuration that works on unraid fuse? I don't like the idea of having to use a dedicated disk to bypass fuse breaking locking, two alternatives come to mind change the sqlite locking semantics used in docker apps running on unraid, and obviously unraid fixes locking. Now that I know what to search for, google and github is full of reports of docker based Sonarr, Radarr, Plex, etc. Īs for it only breaking sqlite, it probably breaks any code that relies on the filesystem locking semantics to work, but sqlite in docker is just prevalent. If appdata is "designed" to be on cache, then I have not seen any such pre-purchase docs that tell me that without a cache my Unraid will break if any apps require fs locking to you know, work, before I spent good money on buying two pro licenses, and converting two working systems to Unraid. With "our issue", do you mean Unraid or LSIO, yes, not a LSIO issue, but absolutely an Unraid issue, breaking fs locking is a big no-no? It makes far more sense to have appdata localised to one disk anyway and no real sense to write it directly to the array as that slows things down considerably and causes issues.Īlso, protected array is not the same as backups, appdata should be backed up, not relying on parity protection. ![]() It's not our issue to fix and by design appdata is meant to reside on cache. sending all processes the KILL signal and exiting. Today, white plaster is used for those that want to recreate that Hollywood glamour feel, and they’re still widely used (especially in Greek villas). It was popularized in the 1960’s when it was basically the only pool finish that was available. White plaster is a tried and true, classic finish. Here are some real-life examples showing what a pool’s water looks like according to the appropriate plaster color. So you’re going for a certain “look” for your pool, but not sure how to get it? Stains, scaling and shading of the plaster will be especially noticeable on white and similarly light colors, whereas a darker plaster can help mask this issue. Over time, the plaster will begin to show signs of fading and deterioration due to the sun’s UV rays and harsh pool chemicals in the water. Mounted on brackets at the dish's focal point is a device called a feedhorn. The parabolic shape of a dish reflects the signal to the dish’s focal point. Principle of operation Schematics of reflection principles used in parabolic antennas. Television stations, however, still prefer to transmit their signals on the C-band analog with large dishes due to the fact that C-band signals are less prone to rain fade than K u band signals. This great decrease of dish size also allowed satellite dishes to be installed on vehicles. ![]() This was the first widely used direct-broadcast satellite television system and allowed dishes as small as 20 inches to be used. On 4 March 1996, EchoStar introduced Digital Sky Highway ( Dish Network). The relatively strong K u band transmissions allowed the use of dishes as small as 90 cm for the first time. In the early 1990s, four large American cable companies founded PrimeStar, a direct broadcasting company using medium power satellites. This allowed small dishes (90 cm) to be used reliably for the first time. In December 1988, Luxembourg's Astra 1A satellite began transmitting analog television signals on the K u band for the European market. Larger dishes continued to be used, however. As the front-end technology improved and the noise figure of the LNBs fell, the size shrank to 8 feet (2.4 m) a few years later, and continued to get smaller reducing to 6 feet (1.8 m) feet by the late 1980s and 4 feet (1.2 m) by the early 1990s. Satellite dishes made of wire mesh first came out in the early 1980s, and were at first 10 feet (3.0 m) in diameter. The satellite dishes of the early 1980s were 10 to 16 feet (3.0 to 4.9 m) in diameter and made of fiberglass with an embedded layer of wire mesh or aluminium foil, or solid aluminium or steel. The dishes were nearly 20 feet (6.1 m) in diameter. The front cover of the 1979 Neiman-Marcus Christmas catalog featured the first home satellite TV stations on sale. The first satellite television dishes were built to receive signals on the C-band analog, and were very large. Taylor Howard of San Andreas, California, adapted an ex-military dish in 1976 and became the first person to receive satellite television signals using it. The term satellite dish was coined in 1978 during the beginning of the satellite television industry, and came to refer to dish antennas that send and/or receive signals from communications satellites. Parabolic antennas referred to as "dish" antennas had been in use long before satellite television. The term most commonly means a dish which receives direct-broadcast satellite television from a direct broadcast satellite in geostationary orbit. A satellite dish is a dish-shaped type of parabolic antenna designed to receive or transmit information by radio waves to or from a communication satellite. ![]() ![]() The distinguishing feature of a longsword is its long grip that allowed the use of two hands, though it was lightweight enough to wield with one hand. Generally, the grip allows a wielder to use it with one hand with the addition of two or three fingers from the other hand, hence the name hand-and-a-half sword. Fencing masters often refer to them as bastard swords. Some swords are more than one-handed but somewhat less than two-handed. However, its blade was not exactly short and sometimes even had the same length as the other swords. The arming swords of medieval knights had a one-handed grip, leading many to erroneously call it a short sword to set it apart from a longsword that allowed two-handed use. Sword handles also varied in length, depending on the type of sword and its use. By the 17th century, Italian dress swords often featured steel handles, usually pierced or chased. Indian swords usually had ivory grips, sometimes carved and of outstanding craftsmanship. Sword Handle or Grip ( Source)Įarly swords had wooden grips, but some featured leather grips wrapped in twisted brass wire. Often richly decorated, the smallswords were an integral part of a gentleman’s wardrobe, so pommel designs reflected their style and wealth. They were common in hanger swords and ceremonial swords. Some pommels were in the shape of animal heads like a lion, eagle, and other creatures. It was popular during the early 19th century when the British East India Company extended its control over most of India, and British officers noted the superior quality of the sword. Most flat pommels also featured an ornament at the top. The Indian sword talwar often had a dish-shaped pommel and an overall hilt with fine traditional Indo-Muslim decoration. Classic examples of the Persian shamshir can also be found in Turkey, India, and other parts of the Islamic world. Some swords like shamshir and kilij feature an L-shaped pommel, sometimes with a cord loop. During the Late Middle Ages, pommels had a variety of forms and shapes. A triangular-shaped pommel is typical of the Viking swords, but medieval swords usually had a spherical, wheel, or brazil-nut pommel. Often a rounded knob at the end of the sword hilt, the pommel serves as a counterbalance to the blade and could also be used as an improvised striking weapon. ![]() Let’s explore the history of the sword hilt, its evolution, and how it differs on different types of swords. Most medieval swords had a crossguard, but later swords became more elaborate, with the additional features of side rings, finger rings, knuckle guards, or swept-hilt guards. The portion of a sword below the blade known as the hilt consists of a hand guard, handle or grip, and pommel.
